McDonald's Atom House League Week 14
What a week it was in the McDonald's Atom House League hockey. McDonald's Black

and Grey, Orange and White, Green and Yellow, and Blue and Red faced off and entertained the masses at Clearwater arena on Saturday.

The puck dropped at 8 am on a brisk Saturday morning. McDonald's Black and Grey set to work carving another notch in the win column. The first goal of the game came with 5 minutes left in the first as Liam Robinson let go of a Zinger that found the back of the net (George Feniak on the assist). After Hayden George and Josh Craig kept a scoreless second period the teams prepped for the third period. Black did not wait long to extend the lead to 3-0 after two quick goals a minute apart by Sebastien Fraser. (Kevin Gray and Nate Snauwaert on the assists). Grey answered with a goal of their own from the stick of Ewan Morrison (Ryan Proulx with the helper). But it was too little too late for Grey as the fell to Black 3-1.

On deck were the McDonald's White and Orange teams. Luke West opened the scoring for White late in the first period. Ryan Dennis knotted the game for Orange just shy of the buzzer and the scoreboard read 1-1. Mitch Clarke and Andrew Harron duked it out in the second and kept both team’s offensive units off the board. Minutes into the third period West re-gained the lead for White, but this seemed to wake the sleeping giant that is the Orange offense. Ryan Dennis netted two more finishing off his hat trick. Quinn Schmidt scored two more for Orange and Blake Freer netted two of his own (assists to Brown, Conrad, and Bennett) to finish the game off at 7-2 for Orange.

McDonald's Green and Yellow lined up side by side in this drag race style game. In the first period Jack Symington opened the scoring for Green and was quickly aided by a goal from Aiden Matuzic (Luke Casey on the feed) to make it 2-0. Nolan Jennings short shifted for Yellow though, and pulled his team one car length behind. Kevin Nyguyen and Seth Leblanc turned away all the rubber they saw in the second and kept it 2-1. In the third, Alex Dafoe pulled his team even, soon after Dawson Howes (from Tyler Veitch) pulled into the lead for the first time in the game. But Green found one more gear and found two more goals just ten seconds apart. Luke Casey (from Brady Krasinkiewicz and Aiden Matuzic) pulled the teams even once again; just before Jack Symington upped the RPM’s to bury his second of the game, and cross the line ahead of Yellow at 4-3.

And finally, in the last game of the morning, the McDonald's Blue and Red teams took to the ice determined to find the superior team. Tyler Caron opened the scoring for Red off the feed from Matt Gouveia. This set Red in front until Christian “The Dagger” D’Agostini stabbed in two very quick goals (Chase Nickels on the assist). And in the most amazing feat of week 14, someone finally scored in the second period! Patrick Tisdale scored an incredible second period goal to tie the game. The teams held a scoring auction in the third going back and forth more times than the cast of Storage Wars. Chase Nickels (Blue), Austin Bishop (Red), Jack Hitchinson (Blue), Lucas Davidson (Red) Liam Cullinan (Blue) Matteo Troiani (Red). And after the barrage of scoring in the third period, we are still left with a neck and neck, even Steven, dead heat of 5-5. And on that exhausting, tongue twisting note, we end yet another incredible week in McDonald's Atom House League Hockey.
