"A" cup Finale
The Sarnia Hockey Association midget tier 2 house league wrapped up their season this past week with all 4 teams competing in the Championship games.


Sarnia Cement took home the “A” cup after an exciting 6-2 victory over Lakeshore Optimist. The six individual snipers from Sarnia Cement were Cole Armstrong, Darren Howes, Cameron Vandenende, Jacob Wilson, Zack Turner and Craig Vanderlaan. Garnering the assists was Vandenende (3) Zackary Roehler (2) Vanderlaan (2) while both Mitchell Neal and Austin Cormier each earned one. Both Maxwell Musico and John Day replied for Lakeshore with Vincent Lavoie drawing the only assist. Goalies Daniel DiFederico (Sarnia) and Jonathan Kameka (Lakeshore) both had a solid season leading their respective teams into the “A” cup finale. The coaching staffs for Sarnia Cement were Randy Wilson & Lauren Vanderlaan and Rob Smiley and Craig Harvey for Lakeshore Optimist.

Dante Club Sarnia
The Dante Italo Club was formed by a group of new Italian immigrants on April 10, 1958, in the City of Sarnia. Their goal was to: Provide a meeting place for all Italians from different regions of Italy who made a new home and life in the Sarnia-Lambton area. Exchange cultural and recreational ideas. Ensure that the Club continues to grow into a social, cultural and recreational facility for all its members and future generations. Set examples for their children to help them keep up their Italian culture. HISTORY The Dante Club incorporated on April 10, 1961 .flag In 1961 the Dante Club purchased a parcel of land on London Road. This land became the new home of the club. In 1962 they purchased an adjacent piece of land to provide more space for a new building. In March of 1967 construction of the new building began. On January 13 and 14, 1968, the Dante Club held an open house to the public. January 20th, 1968, a gala was held to celebrate the grand opening.
