The Sarnia Hockey Association’s tiered midget house league opened its playoff season this past weekend.


In game one of the tier 1 midget / juvenile’s Lehder Environmental topped Lakeshore Optimists 8-5. Collin Zimmer led the offence with three goals and two assists for Lehder. Craig Vanderlaan scored a goal and added three assists and Zach Roehler also added a goal and two assists. Jacob Cunningham, Logan Tardif and Vincent Lavoie rounded out the scoring with singles. Nick Cooper scored twice of Lakeshore. Jordy Grondin chipped in with a goal and an assist and Max Musico and Tim MacNaughton potted the other markers. Jamie Roberts supplied three assists and Matt Clouse had one. Both goalies Nick Budden (Lehder) and Cam Stevens (Lakeshore) provide a number of key saves during the contest. In game two, Sarnia Cement held on to a 6-5 win over Cathcart Dental. Sarnia Cement had goals from Clayton Peters, Cody Lunn, Peyton Demarco, Eric Duguay, Kyle Robertson and Matthew Desrosiers. Drawing the assists were Peters, Bryce Dummitt, Joshua Bressette and Caleb Bourgeois all with one. Goalie Lennex Jagoo picked up the win. Logan Johnston scored a hat trick for Cathcart Dental while singles went to Evan Kwan and Nathaniel Broad. Spencer Baillie had three assists and Stevie Schaefer had one. Goalie Cam Stevens provided his services in back to back games.
