The Sarnia Hockey Association’s Sarnia Cement midget tier 1 team recently participated at the Neil Baker tournament, held in London, where they finished with a 4-2-0 overall record.


In their first game, Sarnia Cement won 1-0 over Burlington due to a forfeit. The second matchup pitted the team against Kitchener Grey where they lost a tight 2-1 decision. Peyton DeMarco scored the lone goal with Clayton Peters drawing the assist. Kyle Robertson strapped on the goalie pads in the absence of goalie Lennex Jagoo. Sarnia Cement completed the round robin with a 4-1 win over the London Bandits. Collin Zimmer provided two goals and two assists while both Clayton Peters and Bryce Dummitt netted singles. Caleb Bourgeois, Logan Harvey and Peyton DeMarco each had an assist. During the quarter finals, Sarnia Cement sought revenge beating Kitchener Grey 3-1 on goals from Clayton Peters, Caleb Bourgeois and Peyton DeMarco. Tyson Passingham, Collin Zimmer, Nathaniel Broad, Mitchell O’Bradovic and Caleb Bourgeois were all credited with a helper. The semi-finals saw Sarnia Cement shut-out the Kitchener Rams 3-0. Clayton Peters supplied a pair of goals and Peyton Demarco added the other. Tyson Passingham earned a pair of assists. The team lost 1-0 in a hard fought decision to North London in the championship game. The team brought home FINALIST hardware from the tournament. Goalie Lennex Jagoo was the MVP allowing only three goals in his five starts.
