Due to fall tryouts for most divisions, our RECREATIONAL LEAGUE FORMATION is still in progress
We want everyone to know that
YES! we will be moving forward with RECREATIONAL HOCKEY this season. Our divisions will have ice times starting the week of 26 September. Please watch the website for additional details while we work and announcements are made as they are ready
STATUS OF PLAYERS:
Some of our division rosters are in constant flex due to U8 to U13 TEAMS having Fall Tryouts. Once we determine 100% who is playing and what catagory they are playing at, we can finalize division lists for our Rec Directors & team lists can be finalized.
We have are navigating a loss of participation from the COVID Era. At one point hockey was down 35% of it's participants. The sport is slowly regaining ground, however the loss of participants that play goal and a loss of expierenced officials has added some complexity in our return "Back to Normal"
STATUS OF SCHEDULING:
Our ice schedulers are working very hard to make these changes on a daily basis. Once the Recreational Schedule is ready, it will be posted. Our tentative practice times are posted and should allow for guidance
STATUS OF VOLUNTEERS:
SHA Recreational is still looking for volunteers this season. Expierenced coaches & trainers are all in short supply. We are doing everything we can to make sure teams have everything they need. IF YOU HAVE CONSIDERED BEING A VOLUNTEER -
Now is the time! We refund all costs incurred for requirements such as online training, criminal reference checks, and other volunteer related expenses.
BIG ANNOUNCMENTS:
As advertised we have big announcments in the works! We are updating our uniforms - once those jerseys are ready we will be posting some great photos and an article highlighting agreat new partnership.
Included in the partnership is a big event just for Recreational Hockey Players & Teams as well as a number of other member benefits that we hope you'll like and find an opportunity to use
