5.11     PLAYER RELEASE RULES AFTER TEAM SELECTION 

 

A player can be released from a Representative team by one of the following methods:

1.        One-for-one trade between A/AA and B/BB teams,

2.        One-for-one trade between B/BB and Recreational League team,

3.        The player is released outright by the team,

4.        The player quits the team.

 

Release Methods:

 

1.        One-for-one trade between A/AA and B/BB teams:

a)        Coaches contact the Representative Teams Management Committee immediately, for approval.

b)        The coaches of both teams will meet with the Representative Teams Management Committee and discuss the potential trade.

c)        If both coaches and the Representative Teams Management Committee agree, the SHA Registrar is contacted with the details and the rosters are revised with the approved change.

d)        One-for-one player movement shall be permitted up to and including December 1st of any season.

 

2.        One-for-one trade between B/BB and Recreational League team:

a)        Coaches contact the Representative Teams Management Committee immediately, for approval.

b)        Representative Teams Management Committee meet with Vice Chair Recreational League and appropriate Rec League Convenor to discuss the potential trade.

c)        If all parties agree to the trade, the SHA Registrar is contacted with the details and the rosters are revised with the approved change.

d)        One-for-one player movement shall be permitted up to and including December 1st of any season.

 

3.        Player released outright by Coaches:

a)        This typically occurs due to a discipline or irreconcilable differences between coaches/parents/players.

b)        Coaches contact the Representative Teams Management Committee immediately, for approval.

c)        The team in the category immediately below may sign player if they so desire. The lower category team has seven (7) days to decide if the player is to be accepted to the lower category team.

d)        If team below decides not to sign player, the Representative Teams Management Committee will contact the Vice Chair Recreational League and appropriate Rec League Convenor to discuss a potential trade.

e)        Placement in the Recreational League is not automatic and is at the discretion of the Recreational League.

f)         If all parties agree to the trade, the SHA Registrar is contacted with the details and the rosters are revised with the approved change.

g)        One-for-one player movement shall be permitted up to and including December 1st of any season.

 

4.        Player quits the team:

a)        Coaches contact the Representative Teams Management Committee immediately.

b)        Verbal notification by the player’s parent to the appropriate Representative Team Director will be deemed as confirmation of a player’s intention to quit only after the passage of 24 hours.  Written notification will be required by the player’s parent to the appropriate Representative Team Director, of a player’s intention to quit, will have immediate effect.

c)        The player’s parent may approach the Representative Teams Management Committee or Vice Chair Recreational League to be placed on a team in a lower category.

d)        A player refusing to play in the Recreational League will have his or her registration cancelled, and a pro-rated refund issued.
