At the 2013 Hockey Canada AGM, a decision was made to eliminate body checking at the Peewee level and introduce it at the Minor Bantam levels of MD, A, AA, AAA hockey. Checking is a critical skill in the game of hockey that when performed properly can create quality scoring opportunities or help a team regain control of the puck.  Just like skating, puck control, passing and shooting, there are key progressions to the skill of checking, when taught effectively that can greatly enhance a player's enjoyment of the great game of hockey.

No player or goalie will be allowed on the ice for the Minor Bantam tryouts if they have not attended both classroom and on-ice sessions. Alternate session - Lambton AAA - Monday April 16, 2018
