Sting Topple Bandits and Hawks
The Sarnia Sting continued their winning ways earning two victories against league opponents the West London Hawks and the London Bandits.

On December 7, 2012 the Sting hosted the Hawks at the Sarnia Arena battling them to a 4-2 victory.

Scoring for the Sting were sniper Cole Goossens who potted the first two of the game for the Sting.  The first was assisted by Defencemen Kaz Gudelis and Gregory Ross and the second was again from Ross.

Half way through the third period the Hawks caught the Sting players merely going through the motions and tied the game.  The Hawks were bolstered by some excellent goaltending and the Sting players struggled to get the puck into the back of the net.

With six minutes remaining in the third period Ian Bailey netted the game winner on a goal that was assisted by Collin Zimmer.  The Sting managed to hold off the Hawks for the remainder of the game.  Andrew Czyczurko managed to score an empty netter to put the game on ice.

Both team were obviously aware that Christmas was approaching and Santa Claus may be watching as not a single penalty was called the entire game.

Players of the game went to Hayden Griffin and Kaz Gudelis for their outstanding defensive play.

On December 12, 2012 the Sting traveled to London to battle the Bandits.  The game was once again decided late in the third period in another nail biter.

Cole Goossens netted his customary first goal of the game in the first period putting the Sting ahead.  The goal was assisted by Joshua D'Angela and Aidan Clark.

The Sting captured another goal in the second on a nice goal by Tyler Talbot-Ellis who made some nifty moves prior to firing the puck by the Bandits goaltender.  The goal was assisted by Evan Trigatti and Hayden Grifin.

The Sting started putting things on cruise control hoping to ride their 2-0 lead until the end of the game.  However, the Bandits had a different plan.  The Bandits began surging late in the third and began firing the puck on goaltender Stevie Schaefer who was, thankfully, up to the task.  The Bandits did manage to get one by Schaefer, however, the Sting managed to hold on to their 2-1 lead winning the game.

Players of the game were Tyler Talbot-Ellis and Hayden Griffin.

Next up for the Sting will be another important league game against the surging Stratford Warriors tonight at the Sarnia Arena.
