STING WIN BIG - MD WEST CHAMPIONS
Minor PeeWee Win Championship HUGE WINNING SEASON!

The Sarnia Sting Minor PeeWee MD Team capped off a HUGE winning Season. Losing only twice the entire regular season and playoffs, enroute to the MD West Championship.

The stage was set, the Sting wanted to win in front of our home fans.... and they did.

Right from the first drop of the puck, the Sting was not going to head back to Stratford for a deciding game. Coach Schaefer, Viggers, and Skinn, had the team ready and pumped up.

The delay waiting for the refs, told the story. While Stratford went to rest in the dressing room, the Sting did drills and ran the lines........keeping their edge for the game.

The first period saw the Sting jump to a 2-0 lead, on goals by Josh D'Angela and Andrew Czuczurcko. The play stayed in the Stratford end for most of the entire period, and into the second. The Sting opened the second period the same way. Laying the body, taking away the puck, and keeping the Warriors second guessing, the entire 2 periods.

The Sting jumped to a 3-0 lead, by Collin Zimmer from Cole Goossens. Zimmer pulled the puck back, and zipped a great shot into the Stratford net.

The Sting defence kicked in, and held the Warriors at bay, until a lucky bounce gave them the puck and they were able to capitalize to make it 3-1.

The Sting was not phased, went down the ice and battled in the Warrior end. Spencer Baillie, taking a pounding all night was not going to be kept off the scoreboard, and put a great shot past the Warrior goalie.

The remainder of the Second period was a defensive battle; Great Plays were made by Kaz Gudelis, Matt Waun, Damon Skinn-Wai, Greg Ross, Ian Bailey, and Hayden Griffin.

With a bit of extra help from the offensive players, the Sting was able to keep the Warriors at bay, and by the third period the Sting started to seal up all the holes.

The Warrior goalie stood on his head, stopping a ton of shots and opportunities, but with only 2-3 minutes left, they pulled their goalie, with little hope of coming back. The Sting responded with Cole Goossens taking the puck over the red line, and drilling it home into the empty net. The Score was now 5-2, and with less than 2 minutes left, the Championship was in the Stings Hands!

The Game ended 5-2, the music was blaring, the crowd going crazy!!!

Honourable mention to Cam Stevens, for his play Sunday and the entire sting offence for playing smart, playing their positions, and doing what was necessary to win as a TEAM!

Stevie Schaefer proved to the entire league that he was a goal tender to be watched!!!

Congratulations STING! This season was a FANTASTIC one, 3 wins in tournaments, a Championship and only 2 losses all season!

ON to the MD championships in April!!!
