OT Not Kind to Jr Sting
After 4 straight overtime appearances by the Jr Sting Bantams against Waterloo Wolves they would come up winless, posting a tie and 3 straight losses, and be eliminated in their first round of Alliance playdowns.

Game one in Waterloo at the RIM complex was a hard fought affair with the goalies stealing the show on route to a     1-1 overtime tie. Brody Dummitt put in a great effort to preserve the point with their only goal coming from Jack Dunn, assisted by Zach Vanderwal and Jacob Caughlin.

Game two at Clearwater arena saw the Jr Sting fall by a final of 4-3 after the Wolves scored late in OT on the powerplay to pull off the road win. Jake Wilkins and the Sting penalty killers were busy in this home affair that saw goals by Dunn, Tyler McLean and Jack Johnston come up short. Assists went to Johnston, Cody Nicolaisen, Vanderwal and Morgan Halcovitch.

Game three back in Waterloo ended with another 4-3 OT final as the Wolves would score with just 12 seconds left in the extra period. Scoring for Sarnia were Justin Riley-Meyer, Dunn and Halcovitch with assists to Caughlin with 2 and singles to McLean, Matt Stevens and Vanderwal.

The final game of the series, back at Clearwater, would see another close battle with the home team falling by a 3-2 score. With a lower than normal number of penalties for a home game the Jr Sting would come up short on their lone powerplay attempt - a five minute major - and the Wolves would capitalize on an OT opportunity to take the series. Vanderwal had both Jr Sting goals with assists going to McLean and Johnston.
