Matt Szabo faced 23 shots keeping the puck out

of the net each time helping to lift his team to a 5-0 shutout win over the Brantford 99’s in AA Minor Midget hockey action at Sarnia Arena on Sunday afternoon. 
 
    Sarnia got on the board early in the first only 34 seconds after the drop of the puck when Dillon Saunders drove a hard shot home assisted by Kevin Durco and Blain Adams. Following five Brantford penalties and a Sarnia one, Kevin Durco struck for a power play goal at 1:10 assisted by Blain Adams. 
 
    Some sharp three way passing delighted the Sting fans in the first half of the second period. Blain drove his second and the team’s third shot off the Brantford goal post without going in. After a 5 minute cross check call on number 8 from Brantford, Sarnia struck for two quick power play goals to solidify their lead. Jeff Williams fired it in at 1:14 assisted by Mike Pearce and Tyler Drury. Then Durco got his second of the game 9 seconds later assisted by Blain Adams and Saunders. Jake Paul replaced Andrew Atkinson in the Brantford net for the rest of the period. 
 
    In the third period, the fans and Sting players were delighted again with solid defensive body checks by Cullen Smith at 11:28 and by Adriano Fuoco at 9:50. Then Drew Morgan made and excellent stop and take away at centre ice to prevent a Brantford breakaway at 4:15. Blain Adams rounded out the scoring at 1:03 assisted by Callahan Doughty. It was his fourth point of the game. Durco had three points with his two goals and one assist. Sarnia fired a total of 32 shots on the Brantford net.
