Silver Stick Semi-Finalists
Congratulations to the Sarnia Sting Midget A team on making it to the Silver Stick semi-finals.
The Sarnia Sting Midget A team earned a spot in the Silver Stick semi-finals by winning all 3 of their round robin games:
7-0 over the Navy Gold U18
6-1 over the Kingston Canadians
2-0 over the Arapahoe Warriors
The team faced the Petrolia Oilers in their semi-final game. It was a hard-fought game by both teams, resulting in a 2-2 tie at the end of the third period. The teams played 3 on 3 for the overtime period. Petrolia came out on top, scoring the winning goal at the 3:21 mark of the first overtime period.
Congratulations to the team on their teamwork, sportsmanship and disciplined play throughout this tournament. The boys had their first penalty free game this season in the Silver Stick semi-finals!
The Sarnia Sting Midget A team would like to thank Mark Colbran, the Silver Stick Committee and volunteers for all the time and effort they put into organizing and running the Silver Stick Midget Championships. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes throughout the year to organize this prestigious event. It was an excellent experience for our players.
