South Huron Hockey Tournament Champs!
The Sarnia Bantam House league Team #2 Sev-Con Paving – Red were the South Huron Dairy Queen Cup champions going undefeated in 5 games against a field of 16 OMHA local league and Alliance house league teams.

Sarnia first faced the host South Huron Sabres team and won by a score of 3-1.  Noah Fererra was sharp in net for Sarnia and earned the player of the game.

Sarnia next faced a tough Kincardine team and skated to a 3-3 tie.  Matt Sabourin opened the scoring for Team Red with an amazing diving goal.  Adam Riggi and Evan Trigatti also lit the lamp for Sarnia.  Matt Sabourin was the player of the game.

On Saturday evening, Sarnia recorded another tie, this time against the Dorchester 1 team.  Evan Tirgatti’s natural hat trick made him player of the game.  Mitchell Keelan also added a goal in the effort.

The one, oh and two record through the round robin was enough to place Sarnia first in their pool and advance to the semi-finals against North Middlesex which team Red won by a score of 7-3.  Another steady performance from Noah Ferrera and goals from Aiden Clark (2), Adam Riggi, Evan Trigatti (2), Matt Sabourin and Jake Martin secured the win.  Mitchell Keelan was the player of the game.

The final game against the Dorchester 2 team had an exciting finish.  With the Sarnia team down 4-2 and with three men in the penalty box it looked all but over for Team Red.  Sarnia killed the long 5-3 and even added a shorthanded goal.  Five goals in the 3rd period pushed Sarnia over the Dorchester team 7-4.    Aiden Clark had three goals and was awarded the player of the game.  Evan Trigatti and Mitchell Keelan scored singles and Matt Sabourin had two goals late in the third that finished off the Dorchester team.

Congratulations to the entire team.  Each and every player contributed every game and played their hardest throughout the tournament.
