Finalists
November 13-15 weekend the Jr Sting Major Peewee MD team played in the 50th Strathroy AE Olympics Tournament  , they finished the round robin 3-1 beating New Hamburg, Mount Brydges & Saugeen. Losing to Strathroy. We qualified for the finals placing 2nd in round robin play. We played a very good finals game out shooting Strathroy by a good margin but their goalie stood tall. The game was 0-0 going into overtime 5 on 5. Sarnia continued their strong play in OT but Strathroy was able to score in OT to win 1-0. Sarnia finished second winning the Siler Medal. Great tournament boys.

December 11-13 weekend the Jr Sting Major Peewee MD team played in the Chatham Regional Silver Stick Qualifiers. We started out very strong with a 2-2 tie against a very strong North London Nationals team. Then we posted consecutive wins versus LaSalle & Woodstock. After three games we were tie for first place with Milton. Our final game was against Milton, with North London playing right before us and winning, while jumping past us into first place in pool B, the winner of our game vs Milton would finish in first place. We were behind in the tie breaking formula so a tie vs Milton was not an option for the Sting. We came out strong posting a 1-0 lead after the first period, then we had too very bad power plays surrendering 2 short handed goals in the second period, we tied the game back up 2-2 before the end of the second period. The third brought no goals with the game winding down Sarnia received a power play with 1:44 remaining, we pulled the goalie with 1:30 remaining in the offensive zone we had a few nice shots but the goalie saved them, then a blocked shot and break away the other direction with the goalie pulled the net was empty we lost 3-2. We ended up finishing 3rd in our pool eliminated. Great weekend boy effectively going 2-0-2 but eliminated.
