Sting Win Regional Silver Stick Championship
The Sarnia Sting Major Bantam MD team captured their third tournament championship this weekend by winning the Chatham Regional Silver Stick qualifier.  This tournament victory qualifies the Sting to advance to the North American Silver Stick Championship held in St. Catherines in January.  The Sting will be one of the Southern Ontario representatives at the tournament.

The Sting managed to go undefeated in the tournament winning all five games.  In Friday and Saturday's pool play the Sting recorded victories over the Erie NorthShore Storm, the Lasalle Sabres and the Kent Cobras.

In Sunday's Semi Final the Sting ran into their league rivals the North London Nationals.  This Semi Final matchup proved to be the Sting's biggest test of the tournament.  The Sting limped into the game with two injured players sitting in the stands and a third player serving a suspension.  Despite being down three players the Sting gutted out a hard fought 3-2 victory and advanced to the tournament final.

In the tournament final the Sting once again ran into the Lasalle Sabres.  The Sting came out firing and despite once again being down three players, managed a 6-0 victory to capture the tournament championship.
