Weeks 6, 7 & 8 Bring Another W, L and Draw
Scotiabank Bantam Team #4 Orange put together some great teamwork and earned points in 2 out of their last 3 games.  The team continues to improve and will play in their first tournament of the season next weekend in Mooretown.

Week #6 saw the Orange team take on Team White with a rematch of their season opener.  Brennen VanderKloet put Orange up early with a goal and added an assist on a Kurtis Allardyce goal to put Orange up 2-0 after 1 period. Team White came back with 2 goals to even the game during the early part of the 2nd period. Athan Kokkinis put in a spectacular effort, scoring short-handed on a breakaway to put Orange up 3-2.  The lead was short-lived with White tying it up with only 45 seconds left in Period 2.  Aiden Matuzic and Allardyce scored goals to put Orange up 5-3 in the 3rd, but the White Team rebounded in the last 2 minutes with 2 goals to tie it up at 5-5, which was the final result.

In Week 7 action, Orange took on Kelly Green.  The Green team pounced on a slow start by Team Orange and scored 3 goals in the first period to go up 3-0.  George Feniak broke the Green shutout with a goal in Period 2 with an assist going to Chris Blair.  The Blair-Feniak duo reversed the stats on the next goal, with a Blair goal and a Feniak assist.  Michael Handy added an unassisted goal in the 3rd period, but it wasn't quite enough, as the Green Team gave Orange more than they could handle.  Green ended up victorious, winning 6-3.

The Orange offense put up their best numbers of the season during Week #8.  Playing against their practice rivals (Team Sky Blue), Orange put together a great effort.  Chase Nickels got Orange on the board with an unassisted D-rush goal.  Sky Blue also scored during the 1st period which ended at 1-1.  Brennen Vanderkloet and Michael Handy both added unassisted goals during the 2nd period, to put Orange up 3-1.  Sky Blue scored a power-play goal at the start of the 3rd period to make it interesting, but Orange roared back with 4 goals to put the game out of reach.  Handy added 2 more to complete the natural hat trick, and VanderKloet also added 2 more for his own hat-trick!!  Assists went to Daniel Gratton, Aiden Matuzic (2 assists) and Nate Snauwaert.  The game ended with Orange ahead 7-2.  Orange goalie Brayden Bedard made several spectacular saves, especially during the 1st and 2nd Period to keep Orange ahead.  Great job team!!

This completes the 8-game "exhibiton" season, and the rest of the games in the season count towards the "playoff" picture.  Good luck Team Orange!!
