Novice Tier 1 off to Great start to our Season.
It has been an exciting beginning to our 2016/2017 hockey year after completing our fifth win in a row in Oakridge on Sunday October 9th. It seems as though the light bulb has gone off in our boys heads in regards to how important and successful team play can be.
We started our season off against Stratford with a convincing 6-3 win against a very strong team. We followed it up with two very individual periods of play against Oakridge at home then settled in for what seams to be a turning point of our season in the third period after being down by two goals we stormed back to earn the win on a third period buzzer beater by newcomer Mason Brown with just 0.9 seconds on the clock to win 3-2 against Oakridge. The most impressive win came this past Thursday in London against The West Hawks after digging a 2-0 whole after two periods of play on some questible calls our boys pulled it together in the third period and started passing the puck around in a great display of team effort and pulled off our first win of the season against The Hawks 5-3. We continued the full team play effort again on Saturday and Sunday having all three lines of Forwards and three sets of defenseman evenenly chipping in for two impressive results 11-3 against North London and 11-1 against Oakridge. We have had outstanding efforts from our defenseman and goalies along with our forwards seem to have found a bit of a rythem with puck movement to open up the ice and provide better scoring opportunities . It has been very nice to see our boys coming together as a team and to hear them say that the reason they beat their biggest rival this past Thursday was because they played together as a team is truly a Master
