Alliance Championship Weekend - Brantford, Ontario
The 2018-2019 Sarnia Sabers Atom Select team wrapped up the formal part of their season in Brantford, Ontario the weekend of April 5-7th at the Alliance Select Championship Tournaments.

We fought hard and played some of our best hockey of the season, but ultimately ran out of gas during our third game of the day on Saturday night against the eventual tournament champion, Kitchener Jr. Rangers.

The team finished with a record of 3-2-0 on the weekend and a +6 Goals For differential. The competition was strong all weekend, and the seeding was not in our favour, but we dealt with adversity and continued to grow as individuals and as a team.

In the end, we didn't lose - we learned. We learned what it takes to elevate our game and to fight through adversity. We learned to absorb the pressure we were feeling and to channel our nervous energy in to a positive. We learned that no matter what, that we stay together - as evidenced after suffering defeat. In the end, no one wants it to be over, but all goods things must come to an end.

The players would like to thank their parents, siblings, and all of those that made the experience possible. The entire group would like to thank Sarnia Hockey Association for supporting the Select Hockey program this season. We, the Sarnia Sabers Atom Select team wouldn't change a thing (especially, not the pride we took in wearing those jerseys...and the jerseys themselves, literally. We had our whites).
