Tier 2 Tryout Information
Hello, my name is Shawn Zettel. I will be coaching the U9 Tier 2 Sarnia Sting.  I’m excited to start the tryout process for this year.  As the first tryout quickly approaches, I wanted to ask parents to help make this an enjoyable/fun experience for all the kids by passing on the following:

1.       The fact that players are wanting and showing the courage to tryout already makes them an all-star / champion in my mind.

2.       No matter what team each player ends up playing for, it will be a fun, rewarding and memorable experience.

3.       Players should not be afraid or get discouraged if mistakes (falls, miss the puck, etc) happen, everyone makes them – even the pros.

4.       Most important part of tryouts is to have FUN!!!

I plan to have independent /  non parent reps for the on-ice instruction and off ice evaluators.  The off-ice evaluators will be leveraging the Minor Hockey Canada evaluation model that includes assessing a players skill, coachability, attitude and competitiveness.

Please plan to show up 25 minutes prior to the first tryout (see calendar) so that we can register your player and distribute tryout jerseys.

If you have any questions prior to try-outs, don’t hesitate to give me a call / text (519-466-6766) or email ([email protected]).

Thanks,

Coach Shawn
