Tryout Information Updates
In light of the Sting playoff schedule, the tryout dates for U11 AA have been impacted.
This may also have trickle down impacts to the BB tryout schedule depending on how things shake out, so please keep an eye on the online calendars at Sarnia Hockey for both teams for the most up to date information.
Regarding the BB tryouts, the format will be:
First Evaluation Skate - This will largely be a skills camp performing measured events.
Players will be running a timed skating obstacle course both with and without the puck as well as getting the radar gun out for hardest shot evaluations. Additionally we will be running stationary and motion passing drills to take a look at how well the players can give and receive passes.
Goalies will be seeing a lot of shots from both evaluation coaches as well as players. We will be looking at positioning, reflexes, mobility, and rebound control.
Second Evaluation Skate - This skate will be focused more on Hockey IQ and Compete level as we perform a 3 on 3 inter-squad scrimmage. The later half of the skate will include an endurance skating evaluation as we look at player and goalie conditioning.
