I would
like to congratulate both Sarnia Hockey Association Midget Tier 1 teams, All
Seasons Trophies and Progressive Auto Sales on their success at the Neil Baker
tournament held this past weekend in London.
All Seasons Trophies went undefeated with a record of 1-0-2 in round robin play and were the top seeded team in the Pool “D” division. They tied Oakville (MW5) 4-4 in their first game and followed that up with another tie in a scoreless game against the Dresden Jr. Kings. They topped the Bradford Bulldogs 4-1 to advance to the semifinals. Progressive Auto Sales had a perfect 3-0 record in round robin action and were the top seeded team in the Pool “A” division. They defeated Erindale (114) by a score of 4-1 in their first matchup. Game two saw Progressive skate to a 3-1 victory over the Bandits (A9). Rounding out the round robin play Progressive Auto Sales beat Oakville (MW3) 2-1 to advance to the semifinals. In the semi-final game both All Season Trophies and Progressive Auto Sale went head to head. Progressive Auto Sales advanced to the finals after a 5-1 win. It was a valiant effort from the Progressive Auto Sales team who came up short in a 5-0 loss but still managed to bring home FINALIST hardware from the tournament. Waterloo took home the Midget championship title.
