5.02.01 - Player Evaluations

1) SHA can conduct Player Evaluations with the intention of providing the director with an updated snapshot of the skills and capability of all players within a specific age group/division.  These evaluations are not tryouts by any definition and are conducted to provide our division directors with additional data in order to create balanced teams & competative leagues.

2) Division Directors are tasked with organizing their leagues into fair teams in September.  It should be understood that all directors are human and make their decisions based on information at hand early in the year.  It is expected that induvidual players develop over the season based on numerous factors that are not within the control of the director including:

  1. Genetics
  2. Specific Expierences
  3. External/Other Skill Opportunites

As a team develops over the season it will find it's place within the league.  Some years teams do exceptionally well, other years some teams don't make the neccessary connections.  We do our best to balance, however at times our best efforts are not always successful.

3) Currently SHA conducts League Evaluations for:

a) U7 Recreational League
b) U9 Recreational League

4) Any player registered for one of the above Recreational Leagues will be invited to a league evaluation.  All evaluations are planned by the specific division director.  Our Division Directors are provided with the latitude to execute a planned evaluation within the set time alloted which can vary from year to year based on ice availability & # of Registered Participants

5) SHA does not evaluate any "Team" within the Foundations Program
