Another thrilling
weekend of tournament hockey, and your U11 BB Sarnia Sting were in Alvinston to compete for the U11
B-T1 Silverstick Regional Qualifier.
I am beyond
proud to be a part of this special group of talented athletes!
I knew this
was going to be a strong team from the get go, but they continue to impress more
and more as the season progresses with their determination and resiliency. They
never give up and never stop believing!
The competition
was definitely some of the toughest we’ve faced all season, and every game required us to
be at our best.
A
complete team effort from top to bottom!
In the semifinals,
game MVP Jack Day kept his team in it early "keeping the door shut" while the offense
found their stride in the second half, eventually pushing us through to a 4-3
win over Lambton Shores.
In the
finals the boys showed the strength of their resilience and character, their
hard work and skill, and their commitment to each other as teammates.
They faced
the #1 Ranked “B” team in the Province in the Dresden Jr. Kings.
True to
their character they persevered, never giving up or losing hope, coming from
behind yet again for a championship victory against a team that has not lost a single game this
entire season.
THE BIG
BLUE LINE was able to limit a very potent Dresden offense to one goal, combined
with a stellar effort from game MVP Austin Morris.
Offensively
the finals were a breakthrough game for Vince Vozza pocketing two goals including the
eventual game winner, and Charlie Gordon outworking and out muscling the opposition
all game long to provide the insurance marker for an amazing 3-1 win!
I want
to congratulate all of our players, coaches, and parents for their outstanding
work thus far this season which has contributed to all of our success on and
off the ice. This has been a team and a season to remember, and we're just warming up!
I look
forward to seeing everyone at our International Silverstick Finals in Forest
where we will look to continue our tournament success against some of the best
in the Province as well as from the USA!
IT’S
YOUR TIME BOYS, GO GET IT! FC/BC/PC!
And as always:
GO STING GO!
