Please read this page very carefully as the Player Evaluation Process has changed due to the NEW OHF Player Movement

 Questions regarding the NEW OHF Player Movement? Please click here for all information.

Players wishing to attend SHA Player Evaluations MUST complete the online registration via HCR/Spordle. Players who arrive to Evaluations that are NOT registered will NOT be permitted to step on the ice.

NEW THIS YEAR - Players will be able to register for AA or BB Evaluations.  Players DO NOT need to attend AA Evaluations in order to attend BB Evaluations. If players wish, they can register for both AA and BB Evaluations.

Players will be guaranteed one skate in the category they have registered for. Players MUST register in their age appropriate division. Registrations not within your players age appropriate division and not previously approved by the VP Representative, will be removed and the player will not be eligible to attend those evaluations.

SHA Policy 2.02.05 (a) Eligibility to Roster:

All participants must meet the applicable requirements that are set by OHF and Alliance to be eligible. Refer to SHA Policy 3.03 for additional eligibility requirements:

“A” or “AA” carded teams may roster (max players per policy 3.02.01) up to:

  • A minimum of five (5) skaters and one (1) goalie that are Sarnia residents;
  • Up to ten (10) skaters and one (1) goalie that are Sarnia-Lambton residents;
  • Up to three (3) skaters that are non-Sarnia-Lambton residents will be permitted.

“B” or “BB” carded teams may roster (max players per Policy 3.02.01) up to:

  • Any number of Sarnia residents;
  • Up to three (3) skaters and one (1) goalie that are Lambton County residents residing outside of the City of Sarnia boundary;
  • Up to two (2) skaters that are non Sarnia residents that have received SHA Rep Executive Committee approval.

Team Selection:

If selected for team placement, the Head Coach and an Association Delegate will present the player and parent(s) with a ‘Player Acceptance Card'.  Cards will be signed and dated by the Head Coach and Association Delegate.  The player and parent(s) must sign the card for ‘Proof of Offer’ and will then have until the following day at 4pm to complete the required Registration.

By not signing the Player Acceptance Card or completing the registration within the given timeframe, the player confirms their decision to decline the offer, and the offer will be voided.

Team placement decisions will be made by the Head Coach based on the results of the evaluations. Team placement decisions are final.

If a player is not offered a 'Player Acceptance Card' during evaluations, they are released from that category and are eligible to attend evaluations in a lower category.

 To participate in Player Evaluations, a $70 registration fee per player, per category, is required. SHA accepts credit card payments only via online registration. Players who do not complete the online registration and payment will be ineligible for evaluations.

U14 and Above -
While the Body Checking Clinic is not required for participation in SHA Evaluation Skates it is highly recommended. SHA highly recommends that participants attend a Body Checking Clinic to learn proper techniques and minimize the risk of injury. The clinic is designed to enhance safety and skill development in body checking.

SHA is offering a Body Checking Clinic for players wishing to attend (U14 and above).  Registration will be available during the Evaluation Registration.

This Clinic will be:
April 27th at Clearwater Arena
10am-10:30am - Lower Hall for the Classroom portion
11am-12:30pm - Blue Rink for the on ice portion

All players selected for SHA Representative Teams, U14 and above, will require a Body Checking Clinic prior to the season beginning. THIS INCLUDES GOALTENDERS. SHA will ensure that all course material, instructor and ice time is supplied for teams.
