Signatures Still Needed For Petition To Rename The Sarnia Arena In Honour Of Pat "Whitey" Stapleton
Submitted By Amanda Madere on Wednesday, September 2, 2020
Several months ago, we posted an article regarding a petition to have the Sarnia Arena's name changed to honour past Sarnia resident and NHL player Pat "Whitey" Stapleton. Stapleton, who was Sarnia's first full time player in the NHL, passed away in April 2020. While the petition has garnered much interest with the likes of several of Whitey's NHL teammates and opponents signing the petition, it is still short 596 signatures of the 2302 needed to have the petition brought before council.

If you would like the opportunity to sign the petition, please visit Change.Org.  Once there, type Pat Stapleton in the search box in the upper right-hand corner where you see the magnifying glass.  If you have any questions, please call Brian Keelan, 519-330-0549 or email at [email protected]
