Sarnia Hockey Community Mourns the Passing of One of Our Greats
Submitted By Amanda Madere on Monday, November 16, 2020
This morning, local hockey hero and retired Firefighter Rick Fraser passed away after a lengthy and courageous battle with Cancer.  Sarnia Hockey Association would like to offer their sincere condolences to Rick's family in this difficult time.

Rick had been involved in hockey for most of his life.  His career included three seasons with the OHL's Oshawa Generals, he was a draft pick for the Chicago Blackhawks and he also played in the World Hockey Association for the Indianapolis Racers.

Rick could often be seen around Sarnia's arenas, where he continued to Coach and referee long after his playing days were done.  In his last few years, he could be seen cheering at the glass for his Grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
