2021/2022 Tryout Information

During the period from 17 September to 1 October, the Sarnia Hockey Association will conduct the annual player assessment and team selection process for our Representative teams. And as stated previously, (and pending direction from Local and Provincial Health authorities), we are planning for a full and traditional hockey season!The ultimate goal of this process is to provide players with the best possible experience in an environment where they can grow as hockey players and young people. 

This process will allow coaches to form teams to maintain balanced and competitive play, and where the athletes can develop and participate equitably and have fun playing hockey during the season. This process will also provide the coaches with a starting point for the development of players, based on their individual strengths and weaknesses. 

Currently, we are planning to conduct the Seeded (A/AA) process during the period 17 to 23 September, and the Minor Development (MD) process from 24 September to 1 October.

As a reminder, and to better place the players for growth and fun this season, players hoping for a spot on an MD team, must go through the Seeded selection process first, and be released to compete for a position in MD.

Both Recreational and Representational Hockey provides an opportunity for fun and fitness, and personal growth.With that in mind, families need to determine what’s best for them.For those that want to play Representational hockey, put these dates in your calendar.
