Sarnia Hockey Association Representative Hockey Coach Applications Now Open for the 2025/26 Season
The Sarnia Hockey Association is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for coaching positions for the upcoming 2025/26 season. Opportunities are available for A/AA, B/BB and MD levels.
NOTE: Applicants are not guaranteed an interview
A/AA, B/BB, MD Coaching Positions:
- Application Deadline: End of Day 7 March 2025
- Interviews: Scheduled the week of 17 March 2025
- Player Selections: Tentatively scheduled for the week of 28 April to 11 May 2025
We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team and contribute to the development of our players and teams. If you have a passion for hockey and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment, we encourage you to apply.
Any coach selected must commit to completing the requirements for the position, as identified by the Hockey Alliance of Ontario, before 1 September 2025. These can be reviewed here: ALLIANCE Hockey Coach Requirements
Selection Process:
1. -SHA receives applications and resumes/Coach feedback responses,
2. -SHA Board approves 3rd Party Interview Committee (3 individuals not currently volunteering with SHA),
3. -SHA provides application/resumes/coach feedback to 3rd Party Interview Committee
4. -Interviews conducted by 3rd Party Interview Committee with oversight by Rep Executive Committee,
5. -Following interviews, 3rd Party Interview Committee ranks applicants for each of the 19 Rep teams based on teams identified by the applicants,
6. -SHA Rep Executive Committee reviews rankings and may adjust based on historical information,
7. -SHA Rep Executive Committee provides rankings to the SHA Board of Directors who ratify the Head Coach position based on the order of ranking (i.e. top ranked individual ratified as Head Coach),
8. -A/AA and B/BB Coaches ratified by the SHA Board will be contacted and those positions announced on the SHA website by 3 April 2025,
9. -In the case where no B/BB Head Coach applicants for a specific age group were received, the unsuccessful A/AA candidates will be contacted by the Rep Executive Committee and informed that they were not selected as the A/AA Head Coach, and that their names would be considered for the B/BB Head Coach position if their child was unsuccessful in the A/AA tryouts,
10. -B/BB Head Coach positions will be announced on the SHA website prior to tryouts when those positions have been confirmed.
