Sarnia Hockey Association Sting Minor Bantam MD Wins US Thanksgiving Weekend Motown Cup!
Submitted By Coach Jason Kelch on Monday, November 28, 2016
The Minor Bantam MD team played some great hockey this past weekend (Nov 25-27). Friday afternoon they started the tournament great beating Meadowvale Mississauga 2002 team 4-0. Ty Golden with the shutout. Saturday morning the good played continued beating Waterloo 2-0 in a very closely contested hard fought game on both sides.

Saturday night we were a little tired but continued our....

strong play against a tough St Catherine’s Hurricanes team in a elimination for them, they came out strong but we were stronger winning 3-2.

The final was against Waterloo Wolves again, we came out strong again scoring in the first few minutes, the second period we were outplayed from a big push by Waterloo to tie the game Mitchell Clarke stood strong making several key saves, and the defense cleared all the rebounds. The third period we took control of the game again with a big power play goal and another even strength goal to win the tournament 3-0.

Winning all four games, combined score 12-2. Great work CHAMPS! A great coaches note: the overall team defense has been spectacular, both goalies with timely saves, defense with good one on one’s and clearing rebounds, forwards with amazing back check support.
