The
Sarnia Hockey Association midget tier 1 house league played a pair of playoff
games this past Saturday. All teams struggled with their rosters as the
majority of players were on vacation.
This was quite evident in the first match up between Sev-Con and All Season Trophies. All Season Trophies suffered a 3-0 loss after forfeiting their game due to only having four regular players. Sev-Con had nine players dressed. However, after recruiting tier 2 players Jacob Cottam, Collin Zimmer and goalie Cameron Stevens, the teams utilized the ice in a fun contest. Both Cottam & Zimmer scored twice and added two assists for All Season’s team. Eric Capes tallied once and Daniel Field garnered two assists. Sev-Con’s Donny Stephenson lit the lamp twice and earned an assist and teammate Alex Tanguy chipped in with a goal and an assist. Keegan Bressette was the other sniper. Both Dallas Henry and Evan Vandenbossche garnered one assist apiece. Both goalies Nick Gardner (Sev-Con) and Cameron Stevens (All Season) had their moments, coming up with some big saves.
