David vs Goliath
What a weekend! Between 4 games in Mooretown 11-3 L vs Mooretown Orange, 15-0 L vs Pt Edward Blackhawks, 7-3 L vs Mooretown Black, 6-2 W vs Pelham Panthers and 1 game in Sarnia 6-4 W vs Sarnia Sabers Black we had quite the challenge in front of us.
Our boys did well, always hitting the ice with winning attitude and playing their best in every period. No one gave up in the face of adversity and we played hard right to the buzzer.
We didn't always get the results on the scoreboard we wanted, but we turned each game loss into a big team win. We have a better idea on our strengths and our weaknesses, better direction for the future. Our boys learned how to play hard and stand up for themselves and their teammates.
We have players that scored their first goals, first assists, and first penalties! Every player had his number on the score sheet somewhere.
Coach Mike's plan all the time was to head into a competition and regardless of the result come out a better team...and we definitely achieved that goal. There will be a different team on the ice this coming weekend when we start our playoff run to see who gets the chance to represent Sarnia PeeWee in the Alliance Championships this April.
