Another great effort by all!
Great work Wednesday night in Mooretown very impressed with the effort and attention on what I know can be a boring and tedious evaluation skate!
For the 3rd skate we will be running a full ice scrimmage game.
After warmups the plan will be to run 3 x 20 min periods (so will be a full game of action) and rosters/line assignments will be posted on the dressing room doors prior to arrival.
We will have non-parent evaluators running the benches as well as refereeing and we will plan to do things in 2 minute shifts so everyone gets an equal look.
I am sure we will be asking skaters to play positions they haven't played before or are comfortable with, but that is not the focus of the evaluation. We will be looking more at hockey IQ, compete level, and coachability.
At the conclusion of the scrimmage game we will run a shootout competition to end it. As with the prior sessions it is an evaluation skate (as opposed to a practice) so I do NOT expect we will use the allotted 90 mins of ice time.
Please ensure your player has their tryout penny for the evaluation and I will be collecting ALL of the pennies at the conclusion of this skate.
An initial round of releases will be made following this skate, and I expect to have the roster of players moving on to the 4th session posted to the website by no later than 8:00 AM on June 11th.
