The Sarnia Sting U10BB hockey team delivered a weekend of grit, skill, and
unshakable determination as they captured the championship at the 2025 Guelph
Powerplay Tournament. With a balanced attack, steady defense, and stellar
goaltending on display from start to finish, the Sting etched their names into
the tournament’s history with a statement performance.
Strong Round Robin Sets the Tone
The Sting opened the tournament with confidence, finishing the round-robin segment with an impressive
3–1 record. Each game showcased the team’s depth and resilience. Whether they were protecting a lead or battling back from behind, Sarnia’s ability to play structured, disciplined hockey made them one of the most consistent squads in the field. Waterloo Wolves, who had been
undefeated in league play all season, the Sting delivered their most complete performance of the tournament. They controlled the pace early, capitalizing on scoring chances while shutting down the Wolves’ high-powered offense. A combination of forechecking pressure, defensive discipline, and highlight-reel goaltending propelled the Sting to a

In the final matchup, Sarnia faced a strong
Burlington Bulldogs Red team eager to claim the title themselves. But the Sting refused to be denied. From the opening faceoff, Sarnia dictated the pace.
