U12B/BB Season Kick-off
Good morning hockey fans and welcome to the webpage for all things Sarnia Sting U12BB Hockey! I am extremely excited to get things going this Saturday with what I know will be a very talented, deep and determined 2014 prospect pool from Sarnia and surrounding Lambton County.

For those that know me and for many of those who don't, my name is Sean Baxter, and I am honored to be the head coach for the upcoming 2025/26 season. I pride myself on showing up to the rink every single time with a positive, encouraging, team-first, hardworking, get the job done and don’t quit until you get there-type mentality. In hockey terms, I’d consider myself a “players” coach, who team members and families alike, can feel comfortable to come to at any time with questions or concerns. In return, the coaching staff and I request respectfulness, focus, communication, self-discipline, integrity, compete level and perseverance as soon as you step foot in the rink or at any team event. The characteristics mentioned are the core roots to building a successful team of any type and bonds that will last a lifetime.

As for the upcoming season, there are 17 spots up for grabs that must be EARNED. It takes ALL 17 players to build a STRONG & UNITED culture on the ice and more importantly off the ice. At the same time this is certainly about the players, this is also about the parents (and siblings), who put in all that supportive time and energy.

What is B/BB…? B/BB is a highly competitive, fast-paced circuit amongst the Alliance division. Through tournaments, league play (approx. 15 different teams) and exhibition games vs surrounding OMHA’s centers, skill level is VERY apparent in this county and province and can’t be taken lightly. We plan to play in up to 4 tournaments (2 local-ish and 2 out of town) and earn a berth in the Alliance Championships in early April.

I will post more tryout information as it becomes available, but the plan is to hold a speed/skills/battle session on Saturday, followed by a Black vs White scrimmage on Sunday. Wednesday's plan TBD, but come Friday May 9th, we will hold a final exhibition game vs last season's BB Alliance Champions, the Stratford Warriors. This is your chance to prove what you got and for us to show them that we're here to compete for that belt as BB Champion.

Please arrive to the rink 45 mins prior to our skate with any black and/or white Sting jerseys from years past. If you do not have one, don't worry we will supply one. Depending on the number of players registered, we may split the ice into two sessions by last name, thus please keep an eye on the website for further updates as the day progresses.

As I mentioned above, I am looking forward to another successful and enjoyable season with a very talented group with lots of “tenacity” but at the end of the day, remember hockey is a game, these are kids, and we only want what’s best for their futures.

I know this is a stressful and cumbersome time but continue to believe, have fun, and WORK HARD!
