In case you missed our town hall meeting on Monday 14 Aug. Here are some highlights:
Tier 1 and Tier 2 are both full ice. The half ice model is mandatory for all Hockey Canada Member Associations Initiation Programs (Formerly U7, Tyke, Pre-Novice, and Instructional) for 2017/18.Cross Ice is coming to Novice, it will be phased in across all Hockey Canada Member Associations up until it’s mandatory for all divisions that fall under the U9 category 2019/20. There has been no definitive answer on what Novice will look like next year, however in following with HC mandates, 2011 Players will be playing cross ice until they reach Atom in all Hockey Canada sanctioned games and events.
Other News:
There will be 4 Tier 1 Teams and 6 Tier 2 Teams this season (Subject to change based on final numbers)
I will send a mass email to all registrants for the evaluation skate detailing your scheduled time and other coordinating instructions. I stress that this is not a try-out, we just want to see all of our players, how comfortable they are and if there are any special considerations to make for our sub-division composition.
I am still looking for coaches, trainers, and volunteers. Please email me right away if you think you’d like to help out….There is lots you can do to make this season a good one…coaching is just one way to help out.
