Tournament Update
The Sarnia Novice Junior Sting tier 1 hockey team competed hard this weekeng (Oct. 19-21) in St. Thomas. The team dominated the round robin play including wins against London Oakridge Aeros, St. Catherines, and host city St. Thomas. In semi-final action, a slow start on the offense moved to a punishing second and third period with the junior Sting extending a 5 goal lead and defeating Amherstburg. The team moved on to the final against provincial champ rivals the London Bandits. The final game showcased the passion and a roller coaster of emotions as both teams controlled the lead at different times in the game. The Sarnia crew allowed a late goal in the third period but couldn't capitalize on the opportunities to counter back and the team lost a hearbreaker by a score of 4-3.
Coaches and parents wish to congratulate the boys - you made us proud!
