Oakridge
Oakridge was in town on Saturday to face the
Sting Atom MD's for the final regulation game of the season. Sarnia came out
strong and early tallying a 4-0 lead in the first period.
Eric Armitage set-up Chandler Haagsma for a beauty one-timer, Armitage also popped one in himself. Brennan Vanderkloet played excellent as well, notching 2 goals. Cayden Wise setup Kurtis Allardyce in the slot for a one-timer. Michael Handy added a single to make the overall score 6-2. Ian Stauth played great between the pipes, Steven Putter and the defense prvided solid protection, and Logan Mackinlay and Noah Porter were the "grind" duo. A shout out to Shey Vanderkloet who was hockey mom of the weekend, cheering Brennan on to score both his goals. Too bad she didn't get to throw her hat on the ice. Let's hope the boys can play this way and use the momentum going into the Byron Optimist Tournament next weekend in London, and Playdowns following that. Keep your sticks on the ice folks
