The undefeated Hawks came to town Saturday to get a a piece of Sting Surprise Pie. Sarnia came out hungry and ready to deliver. Chandler Haagsma opened the scoring 3 minutes in. With 2 mins remaining in the 1st, Kurtis fought hard in a battle and made a nice move by the defence and Shelfed it to make it 2-0. In the 2nd period Cayden and Eric had a 2 on 1 from the red lin, with Wise giving it to Armitage for the shot, producing a rebound that Wise pounded home. Late in the 2nd the Sting had a 2 man disadvantage. Ian stood on his head and made incredible saves and we successfully killed the penalties off.
The hawks scored with 20 seconds left to make it 3-2 going into the 3rd. The 3rd period was intense with most of the pressure coming from West London. Coach barry chewed off 8 out of 10 fingernails. Sarnia held off the Hawks in our end with the final seconds ticking and 6 attackers. Sting win 3-2 against the number 1 team. Ian Stauth played phenomonal in net today. Tournament is next weekend in London.
