5.00.02(b) COACH/BENCHSTAFF QUALIFICATIONS
1) Each year, ALLIANCE Hockey defines the minimum coaching requirements for a coach and bench staff to be approved on a team roster. These minimum qualifications are posted each season on the ALLIANCE Hockey website at https://alliancehockey.com/ and under the tabs “Team Officials/Coaches”. The minimum coach requirements for the 2023-2024 season are showing in the table below. Prospective Recreational League coaches and trainers are advised that they must have current certification and current police clearance, or their team may not be eligible for the ALLIANCE Recreational League Tournament of Champions in April.
2) Coaches and bench staff can register for the required training courses through the same site and path. It is the responsibility of the Head Coach to ensure that themselves and all their bench staff have taken the approved training courses and have met the minimum coaching requirement before the beginning of the season. Coaches and bench staff will be reimbursed entirely for any registration costs for approved clinics attended by the SHA. Invoices for the courses should be emailed to the SHA Treasurer for reimbursement to be processed. Any questions or problems should be forwarded to the appropriate Representative Team Director.
