2.00    INTRODUCTION

The Operating Procedures and the Rules and Regulations have been adopted to provide all Recreational players with an enjoyable and meaningful hockey and learning experience.  Descriptions of the Rules and Regulations are explained in detail in this document and in the SHA Policies which is located on the SHA website (SHA Policies, Procedures and Regulations).  Parents are requested to enhance the efforts of the Sarnia Hockey Association (SHA) and its volunteers by:

a)      Attending as many games as possible. Your children are making an effort to win and build respect, and your presence provides reinforcement.

b)      Instilling a positive attitude and outlook towards the game of hockey and being supportive of your child and his or her team-mates, regardless of success.

c)      Being supportive of your child’s coaches and other team staff members.  Remember that coaches, trainers, managers, and other volunteers do not pretend to be perfect, but they are trying their best to ensure that your child has an enjoyable learning experience.  Their desire and commitment to provide the best possible instruction to the players, is enhanced by attendance at seminars, clinics, and workshops.

This manual will be reviewed and approved by the SHA Board of Directors annually (September) in accordance with SHA Policy Section 4
