1) Division Directors are tasked with organizing their leagues into fair teams from close of registration (Aug 31) into Mid-September. They are not able to make changes to their leagues beyond October without additional work and explanation to the Alliance Hockey Registrar.  SHA Recommends League Conveners firm up their teams within the first 3 weeks of the season and provide official team rosters for approval by November 1 of each season.

2) It is expected that players and parents will cooperate with coaches and directors to balance the league.  Disagreement is not disrespect and parents or players are permitted to express disagreement in writing to the Division Director for consideration.

3) It should be understood that all directors are human and make their decisions based on information at hand early in the year.  Division Directors are SHA's Recreational League conveners and make best attempt to create Fun and Fair Leagues every year, while also managing resources such as VOLUNTEERS, ICE TIME, EQUIPMENT, BUDGET LIMITATIONS, etc.

4) It is understood that individual players develop over the season based on numerous factors that are not within the control of the director including:

  1. Genetics
  2. Specific Experiences
  3. External/Other Skill Opportunities
5) As a team develops over the season it will find it's place within the league.  Some years teams do exceptionally well, other years some teams don't make the necessary connections.  We do our best to balance, however at times our best efforts are not always successful.

6) When assessing the success of a league at the end of the year, conveners are not looking at one team's win/loss record.  They self-assess themselves based on the standings spread between all teams top to bottom, score differentials, overall Win/Loss/Tie data
