Maroons Turn Tough Games Into Big Gains
This Friday and Saturday the Mighty Maroons played in the Mooretown HL Tournament. They were placed in Pool B and played against the: Mooretown Jr Flags "Rams" (L 9-0) , Tillsonburg Tornados (L 16-0), Mt Brydges Novice Gold (L 7-0), and Meadowvale Hawks (L 21-0).
On the scoreboard, the Maroons may have been down. But the team learned some valuable lessons, gained some great experience, and never gave up. Out shot and out scored these players made every shift count and were smiling the whole way. This tournament was a big success. The Maroons were able to learn from each and every game, improving their game and becoming better players. Not a bad couple of days for our first tournament.
We also have to give a thanks to the Mooretown Hockey Moms Kitchen. Every player was given a complimentary meal after one of the games. Whether it was a Bacon and Egg Mc Muffin or a Bacon Cheeseburger...the food was great.
Look out Tier 2 Novice. The Mighty Maroons are back to regular season play tomorrow at 7AM vs Gold. Luke Anjema will be playing net and the Maroons are going to be a different team from now on.
