Devils Hang On for a Nailbiter Win Over Lehder Teal
In a back and forth battle, the Sarnia Dante Club Devils Peewee team outlasted Lehder Teal, winning 3-2. Nick Cotton scored the game winning goal for the Devils midway through the 3rd Period.
Lehder Teal jumped out to an early lead in the game with a nice effort from Kody Heaman. At the end of the first period it was 1-0 for Teal. The Devils evened the scored in the 2nd period with a great goal scored by Chase Nickels. After 2 periods the game was even at 1-1. The Devils took their first lead early in the 3rd period when Declan Ritchie found the back of the net with an assist going to Nick Cotton. The lead didn't last long though, as Brady Pepper scored 2 minutes later for Teal to make it 2-2. After several scoring chances were denied by both goalies (Brayden Bedard for the Devils and Nick Bishop for Teal), Nick Cotton was the hero, scoring off of a great feed from Declan Ritchie. The Devils continue next week with a key doubleheader on Saturday versus Giant Tiger Gold (8 am) and Brooktree Grey/Black (5:30). Great job team!
