U9 Tier 1 Novice MD tryouts
Hello,

My name is Chris Dickson, I will be the head coach for the Sarnia Hockey U9 Tier 1 team, and I would like to welcome you all to the tryout process.  Please refer to the calendar for all tryout times and locations.

The first tryout for this team will be Saturday September 18 1:30 - 2:30 for group 1 and 2:30 - 3:30 for group 2.  The first 2 tryouts will be split into 2 groups as numbers are above the allotted limit by the city for covid protocols.  Please check back on Friday night September 17 as I will post the roster for each time once I have the tryout numbers finalized from Sarnia Hockey.  PLEASE do not come at a different time then you are given as there could be walk ups and we need to leave room in each session to accommodate. If you show up at the wrong time you will not be allowed on the ice.  Once the tryouts start, I will be using this team website as the main source of communication for the duration of the tryouts, all roster moves will be communicated through the website.  Each skater is guaranteed 2 tryouts with the U9 Tier 1 team at which point releases will be made and the roster will be trimmed downed. Once released from the Tier 1 team your player will then report to the U9 tier 2 tryouts which are all listed on the Sarnia Hockey website.  Again, please check back on Friday where I will post the roster for each time and at that time I will let you know how the check in process will go once you arrive at the rink and give you a run down on the covid protocols.  I am really looking forward to a competitive tryout process and am hoping the kids can make my decisions as difficult as possible. I know this will be the first tryout for most of these 7 and 8 year olds. There will be a lot of nervous hockey players on Saturday. So this last line is to all the players. When you step out onto that ice on Saturday remember to be confident in yourself. Never be afraid to make a mistake. Never be too shy to show your skill. Finally, enjoy every moment of it and have a lot of fun. I know each and everyone of you will do fantastic! Once again welcome to the tryout process and I look forward to seeing you all compete for a spot on the U9 Tier 1 team.
