  1. All League Tie Breaker games shall use Hockey Canada, Alliance, and Sarnia Hockey Game Rules of Play
  2. League Tie Breaker Games shall be used to determine the winner of ties in playoff standings in accordance with SHA Policy 4.08.07(1)
  3. League Tie Breaker Games Home Team will be determined using SHA Policy 4.08.07(2)
  4. League Tie Breaker Games shall be arranged/supervised by SHA VC-Recreational and/or the respective Division Director
  5. League Tie Breaker Games should be used to determine Alliance Championship Representatives should there be a tie in the SHA Recreational playoff rounds.  This representative is declared by the Division Director/Convener.       **SEE SHA POLICY 4.08 for details & playoff regulations**
  6. All pre-game warm ups will be 3 min and will begin when the Ice Machine doors close
  7. All Tie Breaker Games shall be 10-B-10-B-15 with a 1 min break between each period. All regulation periods will be STOP TIME
  8. The Referee’s call on the ice will be final. Games cannot be appealed.
  9. Each team will be allowed one 30 sec time out during regulation play ONLY.
  10. OVERTIME: If a game ends in a tie, there shall be (2) 5 min RUN TIME overtime periods.  OT1 = 4v4 Format & OT2 = 3v3 Format. There will be no intermission, breaks or floods for overtime.  All overtime periods will be SUDDEN DEATH.  There will be NO timeouts during overtime play
  11. If the game remains tied after the 2 overtime periods.  The winner will be decided by 3 player shoot out
  12. If the game remains tied after the 3 player shootout, sudden death shoot out until a winner is determined
  13. Stop Time Penalties will be 2 min, 5 min, and 10 min for Minor, Major, and Misconducts respectively
  14. Run Time Penalties will be 3 min, 7 min, and 10 min for Minor, Major, and Misconducts respectively
  15. Overtime Penalties shall be served so that no team has less than 3 players on the ice.  If a penalty is assessed during OT, the play will become 4 on 3.  If a second penalty is assessed, play will be 5 on 3.  Penalized players may enter the game after their penalty expires.  The referee(s) will ensure the correct number of players is on ice at the next stoppage in play
  16. Teams shall shake hands after the game. 
  17. A copy of these rules with the both head coaches acknowledgment/signature above should accompany the official game sheet in the Official Time Keepers box
