Sting Crush Steel Town Boys
Sunday evening, Sarnia Sting Minor Midgets travelled to Hamilton

to face the Huskies at Chedoke Arena. They were doing the stomp with 5 goals in the first and second periods before giving up one goal in the third to settle for the 5-1 win.

Drew Morgan moved up to centre from defense to fill a hole in the Riley-Williams line and it paid off when he set up Nolan Riley who scored at 7:56 of the first. It remained 1-0 until Sarnia scored again at 10:19 of the second when Devin Butler fired the puck home again assisted by Shane Salisbury.

The Sting kept on a roll as Jeff Williams scored the third goal at 8:34 assisted by Morgan and Riley. Just over two minutes later Michael Pearce found the back of the net from in close on a neat set-up by Kevin Durco. Butler scored his second of the night at 3:09 to end the Sarnia scoring spree. Callahan Doughty picked up the only assist on the goal.
At 10:26 of the third, Sarnia picked up another hooking call which seemed to be the refs’ favourite call of the night. As the penalty ended, Matt Szabo made an excellent save in net to keep the shutout still in tact. However, number 96 of the Huskies scored at 3:33 of the final frame to break the goose egg. Szabo made 21 saves in net while the Hamilton goalie Christian Malting stopped 20.
