Sarnia Sting Minor Midgets were hosts to London
Jr. Knights in A/AA hockey action Thursday evening
at Clearwater Blue. Matt Szabo got the start in the rare Thursday game for the Sting while Morgan Reed was between the pipes for London.
At 13:32 the net was flipped over forward accidently. It trapped Mat who was uninjured but some thought it would help in that position in keeping pucks out of the Sarnia goal. In the scoreless first each team drew two penalties.
In the second, London scored on a hard shot from the slot shortly after a Sarnia penalty expired. It proved to be the only goal in the game as both goalies put in top notch performances.
Sarnia took one more penalty than London in the scoreless third. The shots on goal favoured Sarnia 26 to 23 in the close 1-0 loss.
