U11 BB Sarnia Sting Take Home GOLD at Kadri Tournament!
An unbelievable finish to an amazing weekend!
Your Sarnia U11 BB Sting were in London over the weekend competing in the North London Nationals (Nazim Kadri) tournament, and what a tournament it was!
During the round robin play our boys went 3-0-1 with dominating play, out-shooting our opponents 4:1 and posting back to back TO BACK shutouts in the three games leading into the finals.
The finals did not disappoint as a determined Sault Saint Marie team pushed hard for a back and forth game that ended in a 1-1 tie after regulation.
It was a dramatic overtime with both teams having power plays in the overtime frame but unable to close it out, and as such it was off to shootout.
Tensions were high, but the game was never in doubt!
The "WG" twins (Will Garton & Willie Grondin) both scored in the shootout while Brayden Klatt held the Wolf Pack to a zero as the Sarnia Sting win it all in a thriller shootout!
ALL of the boys were playing great this weekend, but special shout outs to our goalies (Brayden Klatt and Brody Sommise) for rock solid goal-tending and to our defence core for giving our opponents not much to work with as the entire group pulled together to only allow 4 goals over 6 games!
In the offence department it was a big weekend for Willie Grondin, Dimitri Dunn, and Brayden Knowles leading the charge and the entire forward group showed a lot of grit and determination.
Things are starting to click and we believe this will be the first of many banners this year!
