U11 BB Sarnia Sting are ALLIANCE CHAMPIONS!
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

From our very first team meeting in the summer we talked about the strength of talent on this team and that our mission was to take home an Alliance Championship, and the boys didn't disappoint!

Through challenging round robin play the Sting found themselves heading to the semifinals against London West which we knew was going to be a tough game.

The game went down to the wire as the Sting scored with 15 seconds left in the third period to force a 2-2 tie and put London West into overtime.

The boys knuckled down even harder in the OT frame and Preston White put the game away with a beauty shot to advance the Sarnia Sting to the finals against the #1 ranked Kitchener Blue squad.

In the final game it was a back and forth affair with both teams having their chances, but in the end the swarm proved the mightier with Brayden Knowles pocketing the eventual game winner in the 3rd period for a 2-1 win to take home Alliance GOLD!

All our boys played their hearts out all weekend, but special acknowledgment going to Brayden Klatt and Brody Sommise for giving our team the opportunity to win each game with rock solid goaltending!

Our defense core played unbelievably hard all weekend led by your Captain Nico Demelo and our penalty killers put on a show in the semis and finals. A big offensive weekend for Will Garton and Preston White, but all of forwards were pushing the pace and backchecking hard.

"BACKCHECK, FORECHECK, PAYCHECK!"

Extremely proud of all of you boys, you worked hard all season and deserve to be Champs!

What a fantastic way to end an amazing season and my only regret is that I won't be back leading this group of amazing kids for another Championship run!

My sincerest thanks to my coaching staff, my managers, my parents, and lastly my kids for what has been an amazing ride!

Too many memories from this season to list here, but none of them will be better than hearing that final buzzer in Hamilton and seeing the kids celebrate a Championship Win!

I look forward to seeing all of you at least once more at our banner signing party and want to wish you the best in all that hockey and life has to offer you moving forward!

Thanks again, and as always GO STING GO!
