midget/juvenile tier 1, Lehder Environmental picked up their first pre-season
win with an entertaining 5-3 victory over Sarnia Cement.
Owen Dunn, a recent acquisition, scored a goal and added an assist for Sarnia Cement while teammates Craig Vanderlaan, Carson Payne, Zach Roehler and Jacob Cunningham also tallied once. Drawing the assists were Tyler Kapteyn, Logan Tardif, Zach Turner and Jacob Wilson each with one. Clayton Peters lit the lamp twice for Sarnia Cement while Kyle Robertson was the other sniper. Peyton Demarco, Joshua Bressette and Eric Duguay were all credited with a helper. Both goalies Nick Budden (Lehder) and Colby Ramsdale (Sarnia Cement) had stellar performances. In game two, Cathcart Dental doubled up on Lakeshore Optimists 4-2. This game was scoreless until Nick Cooper’s solo effort gave Lakeshore the lead midway through the second period. Evan Kwan tied matters for Cathcart with an unassisted breakaway late in the period. Both Logan Harvey and Tyler Oudman scored a goal and added an assist while recent acquisition Brandon Cotter rounded out the scoring for Cathcart in the final frame. Mitchell Neal and Steve Schaefer garnered an assist each. Jacob Serratore was the other goal scorer for Lakeshore with Max Musico supplying the assist. Goalie Lennox Jagoo provided his services in net for Cathcart while Cam Stevens suffered his first loss during the exhibition season.
